Convert PRC to EPUB with Calibre

Calibre (free, Windows, Mac, Linux)
Click Add books and pick the .prc file. Select it, click Convert books, set Output format to EPUB, and click OK. The EPUB appears under Formats in the book details; right-click → Save to disk to export it.

Check for DRM first
PRC and MOBI books bought from stores were often DRM-protected. Calibre can't convert those; free and self-made books convert fine.

Copy it to your reader
Copy the EPUB to a Kobo or other reader over USB, open it in Apple Books, or send it to a Kindle with Send to Kindle.

Is PRC the same as MOBI?
Effectively yes — both are Mobipocket-compatible formats with different file extensions. Some PRC files may use the older Palm DOC format inside, but most are MOBI-compatible. Calibre handles both formats interchangeably.
How do I convert PRC to EPUB with Calibre?
Add the PRC to Calibre, click Convert books, choose EPUB as output format, click OK. Calibre handles all variants of PRC (Mobipocket, Palm DOC, modified MOBI) automatically.
Will my notes and bookmarks transfer?
Usually not. Highlights and notes live in the reading app or device, not in the book file, so they don't come across when you convert the book.
