Why convert WEBM to M4A?
WebM was designed to work inside web browsers, not inside Apple's tightly controlled ecosystem. Safari on macOS does not fully support WebM. iOS cannot play WebM files at all. The Apple ecosystem — iTunes, Apple Music, iPhone, iPad, AirPlay, CarPlay — operates entirely around MPEG-4 container formats, and WebM is not one of them.
M4A is Apple's native audio format: AAC audio packaged in an MPEG-4 container. It is the format that Apple uses for music purchases, podcast delivery, and audio stored on every iOS and macOS device. It supports proper metadata tagging, cover art, and chapter markers in the way Apple's software expects. Any M4A file drops directly into iTunes, Apple Music, or the Files app on iPhone without conversion or special handling.
This converter takes the audio from your WebM file, decodes the Opus or Vorbis track, and repackages it as M4A. The output is ready to import into Apple Music, sync to your iPhone, or use in any Apple application. Audio quality at standard bitrates is excellent for both voice and music content. Converting WebM to M4A is the cleanest path from a browser recording to full Apple ecosystem compatibility.
Quality & file size: WEBM to M4A
Typical file sizes: WEBM 50–200 MB → M4A 3–6 MB.
Both WEBM and M4A use lossy compression. We transcode at high quality settings (equivalent to M4A's recommended web quality) to minimize generational loss.
Color depth: WEBM supports standard color, M4A supports standard color.
Transparency: WEBM does not support transparency. M4A does not support transparency — transparent areas become solid white.

Your WEBMfiles are converted 100% inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never seen by anyone other than you. This isn't a privacy policy claim — it's an architectural guarantee: our server has no endpoint that receives file bytes.
