Should I convert to DOC or DOCX?
Use DOCX for any modern workflow — it's faster, smaller, and the current Microsoft standard. Convert to DOC only if a specific system requires it (some old DMS systems, certain government file submissions). DOC is otherwise legacy.
Why does my converted DOC look wrong?
PDF preserves visual layout, but the underlying text and structure may be missing. Converters reconstruct the document from extracted text, which doesn't always match the visual PDF perfectly. Tables and multi-column layouts are particularly prone to issues.
